Kenneth A. Charhut – Chairman
President and CEO of MindFrame, Inc. Ken has spent the past 25 years in the medical products market. He is Executive Chairmen of the Board of Reshape Medical and an independent Director of Arges Imaging. Previously he held the position of CEO and President of Orqis Medical Corporation. Prior to Orqis, he spent 16 years in general management positions with Baxter Healthcare Corporation. He served as President of the Bentley division and President of New Business Initiatives for the Cardiovascular Surgery Division. He spent 4 years in Japan as Managing Director of Baxter Japan Cardiovascular Division. He has served on several industry councils including, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan. Currently he serves as a Board Member of the Southern California Biomedical Council. Mr. Charhut has a BSME degree from Cornell University and a MBA from the University of Chicago.
Jeani Delagardelle
Jeani Delagardelle is Managing Director of New Leaf Venture Partners, a healthcare technology fund established in August 2005 by the healthcare technology partners of the Sprout Group. Ms. Delagardelle joined Sprout in August 2000 and became General Partner in July 2001. Previously, she was General Partner at Weiss, Peck & Greer Venture Partners focused on healthcare investments. Before joining Weiss, Peck & Greer, Ms. Delagardelle spent 15 years in senior marketing, sales, business development and general manager positions in the healthcare industry, including serving as Vice President of Global Marketing for Target Therapeutics (acquired by Boston Scientific for $1.1 billion) and several senior management roles in the Medi-tech division of Boston Scientific. Ms. Delagardelle also served as Director of Business Operations for Roche Laboratories and Director of Global Marketing for Cell Pro, Inc. Ms. Delagardelle serves on the Board of Directors of Access Closure Inc., Aspire, Direct Flow Medical, Intrinsic Therapeutics, ReShape Medical, Spiration Inc., Visiogen, and World Heart. She holds an MBA from the University of California at Irvine and an A.B. from Occidental College.
George Wallace
George Wallace is a veteran corporate executive and founder of many successful companies. Mr. Wallace currently is Managing General Partner for Intersect Partners LLC. Intersect Partners was formed as a research incubator and investment vehicle dedicated to advancing and founding medical device companies focused on solutions to large unmet medical needs. Intersect Partners founded, financed and managed ReShape Medical Inc. until early 2008 and Mr. Wallace remains on ReShape Medical’s Board of Directors. Intersect Partners also founded and currently manages MindFrame Inc., focused on less invasive treatments for ischemic stroke, and Altura Interventional Inc., a company dedicated to the treatment of aneurysm in the vascular system. Prior to Intersect Partners, Mr. Wallace co-founded and managed four companies, Sub-Q Inc., Micro Therapeutics Inc., TranS1 Inc. and ReShape Medical Inc. Mr. Wallace also served as General Manager of the Applied Vascular and Urology Divisions of Applied Medical Resources, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Vaser Inc., and held various positions at Edwards Laboratories (a division of American Hospital Supply, which became Baxter International and now Edwards Lifesciences). Mr. Wallace holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Arizona State University.
Casey Tansey
Casey Tansey has venture investment experience and over 25 years of entrepreneurial, early stage medical device and seasoned operating experience. Mr. Tansey has served as General Partner at US Venture Partners (USVP) since April 2005. At USVP, Mr. Tansey focuses on the trend toward miniaturization of devices and the development of minimally-invasive innovations and disruptive technologies. He is a veteran of the medical device industry and prior to joining USVP, served as the CEO and President of Epicor Medical from 2001 to 2004. Mr. Tansey and his dedicated team pioneered a minimally-invasive treatment for atrial fibrillation and Mr. Tansey led Epicor’s acquisition by St. Jude Medical. Mr. Tansey also was CEO and President of Heartport, a public company that helped pioneer minimally-invasive cardiac surgery and now is a Johnson & Johnson company. Mr. Tansey also held various sales and marketing positions with Baxter Edward’s Cardiovascular Division for nearly ten years, launching innovative heart valve products that have grown to be market leaders. Mr. Tansey holds a B.S. and M.B.A. from the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, CA. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Heart Foundation, an organization dedicated to advancing humanitarian efforts in heart surgery worldwide through education and collaboration and currently serves on the Board of Directors for ApniCure, CardioKinetix, Devax, Inspire Medical, Intuity Medical, Nanostim, SentreHEART and Sinexus.
David Milne
David Milne has over 20 years of operating experience leading therapeutic and diagnostic medical technology corporations and substantive venture capital and investment experience. Mr. Milne is currently a Managing Partner at SV Life Sciences (SVLS) which now has five funds with current committed capital of approximately $1.6 billion. Prior to joining SVLS, Mr. Milne held the position of Vice President of Corporate Business Development at Boston Scientific Corporation and was responsible for over 50 transactions totaling nearly $2 billion in acquisitions, equity investments and development partnerships. Mr. Milne also held executive level positions in Marketing, Corporate Planning, and Sales with Boston Scientific Cardiology, Becton Dickinson and Parker Laboratories. Mr. Milne holds an MBA from New York University and a BS in Biochemistry from Rutgers University. He serves on the Board of Directors of Aquesys, CardioMind, EBR, Entellus, Mindframe, Osteolign, ReShape, Sadra, Spinal Kinetics and TransEnterix.
Richard Thompson – President & CEO
Mr. Thompson has spent over 35 years in the medical device industry. Prior to joining ReShape Medical, he served as the Founder, President and CEO of Luminous Medical Inc, an innovative in-line glucose monitoring company based in Carlsbad, California. Prior to Luminous Medical, Mr. Thompson spent over ten years building Aradigm Corporation, a drug delivery company. He joined Aradigm in 1994 as President, CEO and Chairman of the Board after thirteen years at LifeScan, A Johnson & Johnson Company. Mr. Thompson co-founded LifeScan as a venture backed start-up in 1981. After the acquisition by Johnson & Johnson, he became President of LifeScan in 1991 while building the company to worldwide leadership in its field. Mr. Thompson is currently a member of the board at Intuity Medical Inc. and Asante Solutions Inc. Mr. Thompson holds a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine and an MBA from California Lutheran University.
